Can you tell us something about farmAR?
‘farmAR is a groundbreaking technology which puts Augmented Reality (AR) information about land and vegetation directly on smartphone display of the user. The information obtained by remote sensing sensors (satellite or UAV) which is normally invisible to the user, becomes visible. The users save time, get higher understanding and decision making power for quick and conscious land management in many applications.’
What are your biggest technological challenges at the moment?
‘farmAR’s novel technology relies on the framework composed of; remote sensing sensors, cloud database, cloud computing, mobile communication, GNSS positioning, smartphone sensor data processing and finally augmented reality. These technologies have never worked together in one single framework, therefore making the components communicate with each other have been the greatest challenge at the technological side. In other words, translating digital information from one to another and enabling a flawless workflow is the biggest monster to deal with for our implementation.’
What do you hope people will learn from your presentation at TUS Expo?
‘The farmAR framework adds great value to UAV data by giving opportunity to visualize information instantly with Augmented Reality. First of all, we would like to introduce a new technology and availablity of such a groundbreaking new platform which the UAV based business can benefit from. Second, we would like to have an opportunity to get in touch with the interested population who can collaborate with us to develop even more useful applications together.’
Which presentation do you hope to give in 5 years?
‘I would like to announce the great percentage of the UAV based businesses who increased their profits and customer satisfaction by using the platform which farmAR provides.’
