Can you tell us something about Birds.ai?
‘Birds.ai puts asset operators back in the piloting seat. We enable asset operators with a Birds.ai View providing insight in their current and future state of their assets. We do this by visually inspecting the asset with a drone, and analyse the images with Artificial Intelligence to find defects. The findings are presented in a clear overview so that the operator can see at a glance the state of their assets. We are experts in drones and AI for the inspection industry, specializing in wind turbines, power lines and solar panels. We aim to help you to gain back control of the maintenance and repair of your assets.’
What are your biggest technological challenges at the moment?
‘Our current technological challenge is find to ways to reduce turnaround time of inspections by applying artificial intelligence and visualisations. However, technology can be designed and engineered, which solely takes money and time. The biggest challenge is the culture shift that the industry has to take towards digitisation, in order to become more proactive in maintenance and repair.’
What do you hope people will learn from your presentation at TUS Expo?
‘In the presentation of Birds.ai, we show three practical use cases in the energy industry, where we use drones, artificial intelligence, and visualisations. The presentation will provide you with a good understanding what is realistically possible with these new technologies.’
Which presentation do you hope to give in 5 years?
‘Success stories of how asset management companies in the energy industry use Birds.ai View, to actively plan the maintenance and repair of their assets. The predictive capabilities of our platform help them plan timely maintenance to prevent big losses.’
